Account and profile: when you create an account you provide a display name and email address, and you may add an avatar and a short bio. Content you post in the community forum (threads, replies and reactions) is stored with your account.

Messages you send us: if you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message.

Technical data: like most websites, we automatically receive limited technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the service secure and working.

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares a limited set of profile information with us: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier. We use it only to create and secure your account and to show your name and avatar in the community.

We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or any other Google service. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Top Surgeons Turkey’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising and we never sell it.

We use personal data to provide and secure your account, enable participation in the community forum, respond to your messages, understand and improve the site, and comply with our legal obligations.

Legal bases (GDPR / KVKK): performance of a contract (your account), your consent (non-essential cookies and community participation), and our legitimate interest in running a safe and useful service. Doctors’ professional information is processed on a legitimate-interest basis from public, official sources.

Individual doctor profile pages on this site carry a "noindex" directive and are excluded from search-engine results; doctor names may still appear on our editorial pages, such as the directory and ranked lists.

Essential cookies are required for the site to function (for example, to keep you signed in). Non-essential analytics cookies are only set with your consent, which you can accept or reject at any time via the cookie banner.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that operate the site on our behalf — for example our hosting and database provider (Supabase) and our email provider (Resend) — under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms, and where we are required to by law.

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account, or ask us to delete your personal data, at any time by emailing contact@topsurgeonsturkey.com. We will remove your account and personal data, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal obligations.

Data is stored on infrastructure located in the European Union. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Under the GDPR and KVKK you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email contact@topsurgeonsturkey.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to address any issues promptly.

The site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
